Yesterday, I talked about a theme I wish college ministers discussed more often with students: The principle of focusing on leading within one’s strengths, rather than striving for roles that don’t fit a student’s abilities or personality.
Today, I turn the mirror toward the college minister.
How are you organizing your role within the ministry, to spend most of the time leading and acting within your strengths?
You’ve got student leaders (and possibly other staff or volunteers) around you who have strengths you don’t. (And if some spots are “uncovered,” you can recruit!) But if you haven’t discerned your best routes for impact – and begun working toward using those routes more and more – this summer would be a great time to start.
(Yes, even in a small ministry. One of the great differences between college ministry and youth ministry is that our student leaders can do so much more!)
