Continuing with the series, another way you could take one step forward this year:
The next challenge: Take one step forward in deepening community among your students.
The idea: Even with small groups, participation in authentic, intimate community isn’t an automatic. It must be fostered – not simply organically but systematically – and it must be bred into the culture. It involves skills and submission, willingness and openness, trust in leaders and modeling from those same leaders.
The challenges:
- Are your students regularly sharing their deepest sin struggles with other students?
- Are major decisions (changes in major, lifelong calling, how they spend their summer, dating relationships, etc.) being processed with the help of community?
- Could each student who has chosen to plug in well to your campus ministry stay that someone truly knows them?
