are you teaching conflict resolution?

Are you giving your students the tools and wisdom they need to face the conflicts they will face during the next 2, 10, or 50 years? They will face relational conflicts, and many who are now friends as students won’t be friends in ten years because they haven’t learned these skills.

Wise communication, conflict resolution, and similar topics are woefully undertaught in the Church at large – but college is a vital moment for learning them. What’s worse, it’s not particularly hard to teach – there are a number of Bible passages on these things, simple skills that make a difference, easy-to-find examples (even in your own life, I bet), and resources to help teach it all. And yet… we don’t do a lot on this.

Before you do another series on dating or an elective course on apologetics, don’t forget this topic that is just as likely to be needed by your students for a lifetime.

  1. I love Ken Sande’s The Peacemaker (you can find it on Amazon) we have an associational leader for our churches that is certified as a Peacemaker training. We have had him come to campus and work with the students through it. It is a great resource and a way that our churches connect with our campus ministry.
