Toward the end of the trip, I had the opportunity to sit down for lunch with Aaron Stern, Pastor of theMILL, the college and young adult ministry of New Life Church in Colorado Springs. Several other college ministers from across the spectrum of Evangelicalism had encouraged me to check out theMILL, which is best-known for its Friday night area-wide Bible study that draws several hundred people.

After I interviewed Aaron, he turned the tables, asking me if he could interview me for his LEAD Network podcast!

That 19-minute podcast was recently uploaded, and it can be…

Besides squirming a bit at hearing my own voice, I’m pretty excited about how the podcast turned out. So if you want to hear what I’ve been learning and my view the present state of Collegiate Ministry, take a listen! We touch on plenty of concrete topics, as well as some “theory” about doing college ministry in better ways.

In fact, it’s a good round-up of many of the major themes I explored this past year.

If you’d like to spread the word, please pass this info along – particularly to other college ministers OR church leaders. There’s a significant portion of the podcast devoted to discussing a new vision for college ministry on campuses and in churches – including viewing it like missions, niche ministry, strategizing up front, and otheuksundialr themes central to what I’ve learned. I really, really hope these ideas can help us all do this better.

Hopefully the podcast is a handy way to pass that vision to others! (The tiny URL to directly download the mp3 is: http://tinyurl.com/4y6tq7)

It’s amazing how many references got crammed in there, so I’ve “annotated” the podcast in the next post!
