as for the saints in the land

These last two weeks have meant lots of interviews around town – I mentioned some of that already.

But this is a great joy – connecting with the guys and gals who are in the trenches of this thing called College Ministry. Maybe it’s a full-time college minister at a non-denominational megachurch. Or a student development director at a Baptist college. Today, it was a Presbyterian guy working in both church-based and campus-based ministry. It can be a senior pastor leading the charge for his church to impact students, as easily as it can be a younger lady volunteering within her church. Collegiate impacters. Church-based, campus-based, college-staff. Anglican, Baptist, Bible Church, Charismatic, Dutch Reformed…

Okay, not Dutch Reformed (yet). I got carried away by the alphabetical order. But you get the idea. Lots of people.

Please pray for these men and women. Life can be tough for many college ministers, and even those with support and success have to seek answers to some of the hardest questions in all of Christian ministry. Oh, I could go on. And I will. :) But let’s be in prayer. That’s all I’m saying.

These are my heroes, for real and for true. “As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.”

Soon, I’m going to list a full-out “Itinerary” for the trip, so you can see the whos and wheres of this trip so far. But it’s been a good trip, and it’s so great to meet people all over who are fighting this valiant fight. That’s all I’m saying.
